SOCIALIZATION OF BEGINNING TEACHERS IN INDIGENOUS SCHOOL: A CASE STUDY

Abstract

 

A study on customer satisfaction for beginning teachers product of Kursus Perguruan Lepasan Ijazah (KPLI) Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Ipoh previously showed teacher’s self quality aspect, teaching and learning, co-curriculum and school task management achieved the quality objective as stated in MS ISO 9001:2000. This case study focussed on the socialization of beginning teacher in the indigenous primary school. Data  obtained through interview, observation and document analysis method. This study found that the socialization of the beginning teacher in the Kampung Kenang indigenous primary school, Sungai Siput (U), Perak meet quality criteria stated in MS ISO 9001:2000. The beginning teacher in this indigenous primary school get support from their colleagues to manage teaching and learning in school. Principal support and working environment also influenced the beginning teacher’s socialization process in this school.
